Vijay had won the best actor award for the film "Kaadhalukku Mariyadhai" in 1997. He had receved this award by Honble Chief Minister of TamilNadu.

Vijay also receved the 2nd award for Kalaimamani award of TamilNadu Govt. In 1998 by Honble Chief Minister of TamilNadu.

Vijay had receved the Roja Duke's best actor award for the film "Kadhalukku Mariyadhai" by director Vikraman.
